-Photographic Routes-
The Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image has organized an exhibition of seven photographers, established and emerging, whose work bears witness to the quality and diversity of contemporary photography in the Côte d’Azur region. The Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image and The André Villars Museum in Mougins have come together to collaborate on the notion of the “photographer / walker”. The two exhibitions will take place simultaneously in these two venues.
Inspired by the work of the great photographer/walker
Gabriele Basilico and his series on Nice architecture in 1994 and in the images of the eternal traveler that
Bernard Plossu is, each of the following photographers has choose his own ground of investigation :
Galith Sultan, Olivier Monge and
Lionel Bouffier focus on the urban environment,
Laurent Therese and
Jean-Pierre Fernandez turn their attention to the coast
;
Eric Bourret to the Mercantour National Park whereasle
Michel Graniou and
Frédéric Nakache examines more intimate spaces.
Nicolas Frémiot, has created an itinerary around the different exhibition venues, taking Mougins as his starting point.
The aim of these itineraries is to highlight what makes this region so particularly attractive to photographers and artists. Nice and its surrounding areas, renowned for their beauty and the quality of the light, are a fertile ground for photographers who walk, stroll, go across the town or wander in nature, looking for inspiration for their work.
