Ratio Natura Poesis
This exhibition could have been called les tremblements de l’instant like a picture of Alexandra Guillot, as each of the two artists constructs her work in this imperceptible time of the moment in addition to the next second, and so on. Every gesture is added to the previous, similar and yet different because the repetition of gestures is played beyond the single-minded compulsion.
Tatiana Wolska and
Alexandra Guillot are daily experiencing every tremor that arises in their practice from reason, to impulse and poetry. Works they build in layers of time, but also by browsing the materials they choose. They seem to develop «archaeological sculptures» of the world around them. Both artists live and work on the Cote d’Azur, but away from any stereotype of an idyllic nature they collect «downgraded» items (foam, old books, tiny twigs, plastic bottles ...) to reflect their structural qualities while building an intimate story in touch with them.
The exhibition shows installation practices and sculptures, as well as their common interest in drawing. It runs through the work of each of the two artists. The duration of the exhibition, they look at their own work in the light of the other’s work, both in its differences and similarities. The visitor finds himself facing two worlds, rich, where reflection and intuition can be found intertwined in everyday practice and the poetry of sight.
